About Ex Corpse Art Collective

Ex Corpse is a queer art collective of approximately 25 members united by a shared commitment to community building and celebration.

Our name is a nod to the exquisite corpse, a surrealist art-making method where one person begins a piece and others sequentially add to it using their unique skills. True to this spirit, our collective operates as a living, breathing collaboration. Every member of Ex Corpse brings distinct artistic practices to the table.

From audio engineering, collage, and costume design to drag performance, writing, fabrication, music, photography, and event hosting, our skills combined make us a strong and vibrant community of creative expression. Together, we weave these diverse talents into immersive experiences that center joy, connection, and creative expression.

What We Do

We produce dynamic drag shows at festivals and pop-up nightclubs across Los Angeles, and we are excited to revive our art show programming to expand our creative offerings.

Our work is inherently collaborative. Just like the game that inspired our name, every project allows each member to build upon the foundation laid by the others, resulting in something far greater than the sum of its parts.

Our Philosophy

At our core, Ex Corpse believes that community strength is what sustains queer folks through challenging times.

We are dedicated to creating spaces where queerness is celebrated, where people can grow personally and creatively, and where resources are shared freely.

We are close friends who spend our time dreaming up future experiences for ourselves and the broader community. Love, mutual support, and personal growth guide everything we do.
